Weekend Talk – Wordpress Blog and Ping
The other day, I was reading a blog post whose link I received in my email. It was about the Pinging technology within Wordpress and the serious flaw it contains. The author writes that while Wordpress has a great feature to ping all major services including Google, it also has a serious flaw that can get your blog banned from any or all service.
What happens is this – When you write a post and click the PUBLISH button, Wordpress pings all the service you have listed in the Admin panel and informs them of your new post and each of these services in turn crawl your blog and index your latest content. While this is good, there is also a serious problem. If say, 10 minutes later, you go ahead and edit the post and then click PUBLISH again, Wordpress goes ahead and pings all the service again, as if you have published a new post.

Weekend Talk – Wordpress Automatic Upgrade
My son fell sick today and my routine for the day completely changed. I almost lost the hope of writing a post today, until now. I do not have a lot of time in hand, so I am going to share with you a Wordpress Plugin I just started using.
It is called the Automatic Wordpress Upgrade Plugin. Initially after I uploaded and activated it, I was worried. I really wasn’t sure if I wanted to push the automatic upgrade button. What if messed up my database? I then decided to take chance by backing up all my files.
I have to tell you, it is a wonderful Plugin. Really wonderful. It did exactly what it promised. I take my hats off to the author for making a Plugin as this one. It cuts down the time that takes to upgrade the Wordpress edition manually.

How the Pros do it: Getting your blog indexed in Google
Yes, there is a way the pros do it. Thats what keeps them on top. These are smashing tips because they have got my blogs indexed in less than 2 hours multiple times in the past. The difference – I am not a pro.
Before I proceed, I assume your blog has at least a couple posts for the Search Engines to devour. If not, go ahead and fire up your creativity and pen down an article or two.
