Social Media Trend – Genesis and Evolution Part 1
Today is the 1st day of 2008 and I thought of beginning the year with a post looking back at the genesis and evolution of Social Media and Marketing. I am going to utilize Google Trends to provide a visual understanding of the topic in question. This post doesn’t really contain my thoughts, but primarily information based on Google’s Search database.

Shoutwire – Have you paid attention to this little gem?
Visit any popular Social Media site or blog and there definitely will be a post about Digg and the “Digg Effect”. If not, you will come across a post
about StumbleUpon and how great it is. By all means, I respect and agree with these thoughts. A front page exposure on Digg can get you as little as 10,000 visitors in a day or as much as 80,000 visitors in one day. Again, a article popularized by StumbleUpon can get you streams of visitors for many weeks. A few my articles written in the beginning of last month still get me hundreds of visitors even today.
I have never been on the front page of Digg. There was one time I came close and the hypocrites there banned me. Maybe they do not tolerate Quality content anymore. I mean it. I have seen stale contents getting on the front page of Digg. Pretty sad.

I want the world to read my blog post – Part 8
Yes, I understand that you have written your first post. You have published it and now you want the world to know about it. How do you reach out to the blogosphere? One way is to spend money and buy targeted visitors to your blog. But then, it really isn’t viable to do it. You are going to write almost everyday or once every 2 days and it isn’t a wise idea to spend money on each post for exposure, unless you have massive income coming in from your venture.
So, what is the answer? Social Media of course. Social Media is the answer to your immediate traffic concerns. What do I mean by Social Media? I am talking about community based sites that are actually powered by everyday people like you and me. These sites are made by the people for the people.
