I have been very specific in my writings trying to drive home certain core elements of success into my own head as well as my readers. Believe me, I benefit from my own writings too.

This happened with me few months back. I was optimizing a secondary blog I was building for a particular niche. In less than a week, I noticed my keyword was ranked in the first page of Google. I was pretty excited about it as 2 days later I had targeted visitors coming to my blog. Then BAM!

The keyword disappeared. I had done nothing to be penalized by Google. I was building links gradually and as naturally as possible. There was no Black Hat involved. My keyword had appeared in the first page probably due to Google indexing a large number of inbound links or so. It was a temporary move.

The above was just one example. This applies to every aspect of business. It takes time to build. When we look for shortcuts, we end up with a business short lived. We are bombarded with the “GURU Thoughts” literally everyday, that we enter into the realms of false perception. That is what happened to me. I knew that stable ranking would take at least 2-3 months, yet I was a victim of my own delusion.

What have you learned today?
